You don't need an iPhone reset, passcode / PC
If you fail to enter your iPhone passcode many times, your device will be locked and you will not be able to do anything. A method to reset and erase such a locked iPhone without a PC (Mac or Windows) was added in iOS 15.2.
If you make a mistake 7 or 8 times, you will be able to enter the passcode again after waiting for about 15 minutes, but you may want to reset and erase the device immediately before selling.
On iPhones and iPads with iOS 15.2 installed, the option "Erase iPhone" will appear in the lower right corner when locked. And by entering the password of your Apple ID, you can cleanly erase the contents of your iPhone.
Please note that this operation requires a connection to Wi-Fi or a cellular network. Also, if you restart the device in the locked state, you will not be able to connect to Wi-Fi until it is unlocked, so you need a cellular network.
Well, normally, when the iPhone is locked, I think I'll take it home and find the password or reset it on my PC ... Still, it's better than not being able to do anything.
