"Galaxy Watch 4" with new Wear OS. Enhanced Google Maps and message support

Samsung announced the "Galaxy Watch4 / Watch4 Classic" smartwatch on the 11th. It will be the first smartwatch equipped with a new Wear OS (Wear OS Powered by Samsung) that integrates the Wear OS promoted by Google and the Tizen OS promoted by Samsung.

Many functions and designs based on the design language "Material You" common to Android 12 are adopted for each application such as Google Maps, Messages, and Google Pay, and a YouTube Music application is also provided.

Wear OS's Google Maps app navigates you to your destination on time with turn-by-turn instructions sent from your mobile phone to your watch. Suitable for walking, biking, cars, etc. It also syncs with Google Maps on your smartphone to show your home and work addresses, recent search results, and more.

With the messaging app, you can easily reply directly from your watch without removing your smartphone. In the US, South Korea, and Japan, you can download Galaxy Watch 4 messages from Google Play.

Also supports Google Pay. It has expanded to 16 countries including Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, Slovakia, Sweden, Taiwan, Ukraine and United Arab Emirates. In addition, the design of the app has been redesigned, and the credit card stored in the wallet is displayed in a large size and can be steered by swiping.

Also supports YouTube Music. YouTube Music Premium subscribers will be able to access, download and listen to songs and playlists with Wear OS's new YouTube Music app. You can update the songs downloaded to your watch while charging or connecting to Wi-Fi.

Google Play for Wear OS has also been updated to make it easier to find and download apps. Many third-party apps for Wear OS have also been redesigned.

The Galaxy Watch 4 series includes the Galaxy Watch 4 with a simple appearance in an aluminum case and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic in a steel case.
