The "R3 keyboard" announced this time is the first REALFORCE to realize wireless support, which was in high demand from users. Of the 20 products, 16 products will be developed as hybrid models that support both wireless and USB connections, and 4 products will be developed as wired models with USB connections. All models are arranged in Japanese.

The hybrid model's wireless connection supports Bluetooth 5.0. You can make multi-pairing connections with up to four devices such as Windows PCs, smartphones, and tablets, and switch the connection destination as needed.

You can also connect by wire by connecting the included detachable USB cable. The interface on the main unit side is USB 2.0 Type-C, and the interface on the connected device side is USB 2.0 Type-A. Wired model cable is directly attached.

Actuation points can be set in 4 stages

All models of R3 keyboard are equipped with "APC function" that can set the actuation point. There are 4 settings: 0.8mm, 1.5mm, 2.2mm and 3.0mm. Until now, the APC function that can be set in 3 steps has been prepared, but it is now possible to set a shallow actuation point of 0.8 mm.

This makes it possible to make settings that are easier to use for each key, such as setting the keys that you want to input at high speed as shallow as 0.8 mm and the keys that are easy to press by mistake as deep as 3.0 mm. Up to two settings can be saved in the onboard memory of the keyboard, and can be switched with a single touch.

Customize the main body design with a dedicated kit

Also, one of the interesting new features of the R3 keyboard is the design customization of the main unit. By using the dedicated "panel design kit" (sold separately), you can change the panel (cover) part of the main body to your favorite design.

The panel design kit includes a panel remover that removes the panel of the main body, a panel sheet that allows you to print your favorite design, and a transparent clear panel.

Specifically, the panel of the main body is removed with a panel remover, the desired design is printed on the panel sheet, placed on the main body, and the clear panel is fitted from above to complete the design customization. The panel sheet design can be set using the utility "REALFORCE software" and can be output with a compatible home inkjet printer.

According to Topre, the R3 series focuses on personal use, and in order to differentiate it from other keyboard products, it aims to be a product that can be customized in appearance (not only inside) and that can be used happily. At the same time, a total of eight color keycap sets with new colors that can be attached to the REALFORCE series will also be on sale in sequence.

"Key map replacement function" that can change all key layouts

The newly added "key map replacement function" is a function that can change all key layouts, such as replacing the Ctrl key, half-width / full-width, Backspace key at a relatively distant position with the CapsLock key, conversion, non-conversion key, etc. , All keys can be swapped as desired. Like the APC function, the keymap replacement function can save up to two settings in the onboard memory.

In addition, with the REALFORCE software used in the R3 series, you can check the battery level of the hybrid model, set 4 levels of power saving settings such as turning off the LED and turning off the power when there is no operation, and connect to Bluetooth 1 to 4. You can register the name of the device you are using, and you can use the heat map function that allows you to check the frequency of key input by the number of keystrokes and color.
